This article analyzes the experiences of Black women in the academic environment of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), investigating how academic racism impacts their permanence, intellectual recognition, and psychological well-being. The study aims to understand the dynamics of exclusion and delegitimization faced by these students, highlighting the persistence of practices that hinder their full integration into higher education. The research adopts a qualitative approach and consists of a case study based on the experiences of 25 Black women, with 24 narratives collected through a structured questionnaire and one personal experience report from the author. The questionnaire included closed-ended questions to map structural patterns and an open-ended question to deepen the understanding of individual experiences. The results indicate that the presence of Black women in the university is constantly questioned, their academic productions are frequently discredited, and the impact of academic racism is reflected in mental health issues and a sense of non-belonging. Additionally, there is strong institutional resistance to valuing Black epistemologies, reinforcing both symbolic and material exclusion of these students. The study highlights the need for structural changes in universities, including the revision of academic criteria, redistribution of opportunities, and implementation of policies that ensure not only access but also the permanence and recognition of Black intellectual production.
