This article explores the challenges and strategies involved in teaching in higher education, with a focus on the importance of integrating theory and practice. Through a study conducted within the context of the Master's Program in Sociocultural Practices and Social Development at the University of Cruz Alta, critical aspects such as maintaining student engagement, adapting to different learning styles, and managing time efficiently are discussed. Additionally, the research emphasizes the practical experience of teaching internships, highlighting the development of pedagogical and interpersonal skills necessary for the formation of resilient and reflective educators. The study concludes that success in higher education teaching depends on the ability of instructors to balance authority with a welcoming learning environment, applying pedagogical theories in an adaptable and innovative manner.
