This article aims to address possibilities for analysis and discussion of gender issues (Scott, 1995; Perrot 2005), identity (Bradley, 1996; Woodward, 2000) and the history of deaf education, based on an interview with a Lutheran teacher. For this purpose, the research methodology used was Thematic Oral History, based on the studies of Alessandro Portelli (2001) and Borges and Borges (2021). The analysis evidenced that this teacher's work was guided by the precepts of Lutheranism, which were also defended by the school where she worked. Her experiences carried some social markers determined by her identities: woman, Lutheran and teacher.
