In the school context, teachers play an important role. They are the ones who guide students' learning, with the purpose of developing the teaching-learning process. To achieve this, it is necessary to provide inclusive education for all, considering the unique characteristics of each student, especially students with disabilities. Teaching based on inclusion requires knowledge of Assistive Technologie. Therefore, in this article, we will define what Assistive Technology is, what are the categories of assistive technologies that can contribute to the teacher's work in the classroom, and describe in more detail the assistive technologies aimed at people with visual impairments and low vision, because the author of this research is a person with visual impairments and low vision, who has already used assistive technologies in school and academic contexts. The study demonstrated that the use of assistive technologies in the school context is essential in the inclusion and learning processes.
