Compensatory policies and the relevance of history
a reflection with empirical data of brazilian, mexican and argentine young people

The following text has as main objectives to understand the positioning of young people, between 15 and 18 years old, Mexicans, Brazilian and Argentinian, about compensatory policies about indigenous people in their countries and discuss the influence of knowledge about the past in this positioning. We used quantitative data, descriptive statistics, to make a discussion, and it was possible to note that there is a correlation between political positioning and historical knowledge. It was also possible to identify the respondents who showed more support for compensatory policies is also those who showed greater interest in historical-scientific thinking.
