This study has as its premise to discuss the mechanisms that contributed to the implementation of Law 10.639/2003 and the fight against racism in the school context in the Municipal Education Network of Porto Seguro, Bahia. It is necessary to break with the gaps and/or bottlenecks that have prevented the applicability of the guiding principles of Law 10.639/2003, especially when we refer to teacher training, whether initial and/or continued, especially those who work directly with content that deals with the theme proposed here. That said, we seek in this study to verify if the gaps present in the treatment of history, culture and other elements related to blacks and their trajectory in Brazil and in the African Continent are being reviewed in the teaching planning of teachers in the city's Municipal Network, in order to achieve the object proposed here, we focus on theoretical references that deal with the theme, as well as official documents that allowed us to understand the paths taken for the implementation of the Law in question in the municipality of Porto Seguro.
