Abstract

This article presents an experience report on how a mother used children's stories as a pedagogical tool to educate her children, highlighting the importance of preparing them for the challenges of contemporary society. Since ancient times, myths have been used by older generations to transmit valuable lessons to younger ones. Similarly, children's literature, in addition to providing entertainment, plays an essential role in developing children's autonomy, helping them assimilate values and skills necessary for life. With a simple and accessible approach, stories can be an important resource for adults in guiding children through the complexities of social interactions. Through this initiative, children's literature was used to cultivate values and competencies, promoting the autonomous growth of children and preparing them for the contemporary world.

  • Estela Maris Giordani, Federal University of Santa Maria

    Graduated in Pedagogy with a specialization in Special Education, Specialist in Special Education (UPF), Master's in Education (UFRGS) and PhD in Teaching Methodology (UNICAMP). Professional Specialization in Psychology with an approach in Ontopsychology from the State University of St. Petersburg (RU). Specialization in Ontopsychology from UNICEUB. With 40 years of professional experience in education, including 30 years of training educators. Member of the Scientific Council of the Brazilian Association of Ontopsychology. Currently dedicated to studying, researching and disseminating the methodology of Ontopsychological Pedagogy, Interdisciplinarity and Educational Innovation in educator training. Full Professor and Researcher at the Federal University of Santa Maria. Professor in the Public Administration Postgraduate Program. Leader of the CNPq Research Group in Ontopsychological Pedagogy. Founding member of the Identità Institute - Interdisciplinary Training and Research, since 2005. Developed innovative methodologies: intelligent reading, research and textual production in basic and higher education, Literacy in 45 days. Co-creator of an innovative educational platform that received an award from the FAPERGS/RS Centelha Program 2022/2023.
