Estado da arte da produção acadêmica brasileira relacionada à identidade, aos Institutos Federais e a mídias sociais: um estudo a partir do catálogo de teses e dissertações da CAPES

Abstract

This article presents a “state-of-the-art” survey of academic productions at the stricto sensu postgraduate level (master's and doctorate) about themes of identity, Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology (IFs) and social media. This is bibliographical research that objective is to demonstrate a brief scenario of Brazilian scientific production regarding theses and dissertations that relate to the aforementioned themes and published between 2008 and 2023, a period that includes the 15 years since the creation of the IFs. To this end, data collection was carried out by consulting the digital catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), which was delimited to three major areas of knowledge: applied social sciences, human sciences and multidisciplinary. A quantitative and qualitative overview of the research conducted that relates the defined terms was prepared and, among the results found, six works were selected for reading and consideration, based on the titles, keywords, methodology applied and year of publication. It was found that most of the works deal with themes related to identity and a significant number address the Federal Institutes, but fewer studies on social media were found. When the terms were associated, the results reduced even further. The number of theses and dissertations that relate all the searched terms is practically insignificant, indicating a possible gap and the need to expand research that relates the construction of the IF’s identity and the role of social media in this process.
