Historical audiographies and history teaching:
the experience at the Dom Velloso school in Ouro Preto

This text presents the first results of the research being conducted at the Dom Velloso school in Ouro Preto on the production of sound archives called Audiographies. These are sound archives produced by students, in collaboration with the teacher. They are intended to be tools for the development of critical concepts and to develop awareness of History. The classroom is the space for the production of Audiographies, as it opposes the commercial logic of the production of sound archives. Conceived as alternative communication practices, they express collective and participatory processes, and are learning instruments distributed through communication networks. Audiographic production enhances the communication process between teachers and students, and therefore enables the transmission of scientific knowledge, using some aspects of the language of radio, without being entirely confused with the language of this medium, nor with its connection to the cultural industry.
