The phenomenon of longevity is a characteristic of contemporary society and brings with it subjectivity, based on the understanding that the human being, regardless of age, belief or race, is a historical-sociocultural subject, being inserted in the dialectical relationship between man and society. In this sense, the work aims to analyze the Cultural-Historical Theory of Subjectivity developed by Fernando Luis González Rey (1949-2019) based on reflection on Sociocultural Practices in old age. To this end, the method of sustained reflection was used through bibliographical-documentary review, being structured as: Old age in contemporary times; Sociocultural practices in contemporary society and in old age and; Subjectivity based on the theory of Fernando Gonzalez Rey.
