Anti-manicomial struggle, intersectionality and feminisms

Abstract

This is the Critical Review of the book Anti-manicomial Struggle and Feminisms: gender, race and class dimensions for the brazilian Psychiatric Reform (PEREIRA; PASSOS, 2017), which addresses in an intersectional way, the theme of the Anti-manicomial Struggle and Feminisms, relating them to the markers of gender, race and class, with sensitivity and scientificity by the authors, who express themselves in order to break with the impositions of patriarchy, sexism, racism and lgbtfobia. The Review dialogues with different authors and with the contemporary feminist musicality in Brazil, which affirms the autonomy of women, pointing to reflections that lead to the conclusion that, as long as there is capitalism, there will be sexism and racism. It also emphasizes the importance of feminist militancy, human rights and the Anti-Homeless Struggle as strong allies in the resistance against domination, violations and setbacks to democracy.
