Western feminism and decolonial feminism:
two faces of the same struggle

The modern science project is based on neutrality for the production of knowledge. Western feminism as a theory is one of the contributions that starts to challenge this condition, elaborating a political discourse conjugated with the theoretical one. Thus, the present article dialogues with this understanding, because besides being epistemological science is also a political position. However, work is also carried out under the understanding that there is a possibility of advancing in the categories of analyzes that account for other realities of feminisms and gender studies. Here we point to decoloniality as a proposal of rupture with the Western epistemological paradigms in which Eurocentric feminism itself established itself. In this way, the central objective of the article is anchored in the possibility of strengthening the heterogeneous discourse, peripheral, antinormative, non-biologizing, not dichotomous and not essentialist on the gender, able to confront to deconstruct in a qualified way the imperialist normative structures on which Western studies were based.
