Abstract

Understanding indigenous textualities is a fundamental task in the fight against prejudice and the marginalization of the native peoples of Brazil, since the indigenous people have been stigmatized and oppressed for centuries in the country. In this context, this article seeks to discuss the importance of the Tembetá collection: voices of resistance as a production entirely aimed at indigenous people. Thus, the volume of the collection chosen for analysis brings Álvaro Tukano as the protagonist, an activist of the Tukano ethnicity and one of the greatest leaders of the Indigenous Movement.

    He has a degree in Psychology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1994), a master's degree in Letters from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2003), a doctorate in Letters (Vernacular Letters) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2008) and did a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Neolatine Letters at UFRJ with a scholarship from FAPERJ. She is currently a professor of Portuguese Literature at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and a professor in the Graduate Program in Letters at UFPA. He has experience in the area of ​​Letters, with an emphasis on Portuguese Literature, acting mainly on the following themes: translation, body, language, portugal and otherness.
