A PEDAGOGIA DA IMAGEM: O USO DA IMAGEM COMO FONTE E LUGAR DE HISTÓRIA E MEMÓRIA DO ESTADO NOVO

Resumo:
Este artigo apresenta breve análise, sobre a importância da imagem como fonte e lugar de história e memória para a pesquisa histórica. Para isso, se analisou algumas imagens representativas, nas quais foram criadas durante o Estado Novo (1937-1945), pelo Departamento de Imprensa e Propaganda DIP, no sentido de propagar a ideologia de patriotismo e também, a “imagem” de Getúlio Vargas, como sendo um líder justo, carismático pelas crianças e provedor do Estado. Também, tinha como meta o desenvolvimentismo/nacionalismo do país como um bem dos trabalhadores. Ainda apresentamos uma reflexão sobre a educação nesse contexto, bem como uma singela mostra de como foi representada a infância ao longo da história e, ainda a abordagem feita pelo governo no sentido de incutir nas crianças esses ideais, por ele defendidos. Usou-se essa metodologia, pois entendemos que as imagens são artefatos-culturais e que podem nos surpreender a cada leitura que lhe fazemos, sendo essa uma importante fonte para o estudo da história e memória.
