RELACult is reclassified in Qualis CAPES 2021–2024 and reaches the A3 level
RELACult – Latin American Journal of Studies in Culture and Society was reclassified in the CAPES Qualis Journals system, in the 2021–2024 evaluation cycle, moving from B1 to A3. The update can be verified through the Sucupira Platform, in the Qualis Journals module, using the e-ISSN 2525-7870.
This reclassification consolidates RELACult as a national and international reference journal in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences, positioning the journal at an editorial level shared with already consolidated journals, linked to universities and research centers with broad academic tradition.
In the context of the 2021–2024 Quadriennial Evaluation, the A3 classification represents relevant recognition of the journal’s editorial trajectory, of its peer review criteria, of its regularity, of its internationalization policy, and of its commitment to open access and scientific ethics.
For the CLAEC – Latin American Center for Studies in Culture, the institution responsible for the journal, this achievement assumes an even more expressive institutional meaning. It is the recognition of a scientific project built by a Scientific and Technological Institution young in terms of academic institutionalization, but which has been consolidating itself through the strengthening of its editorial practices, the expansion of reviewer networks, and the international circulation of the knowledge produced.
“Closing the year in which Editora CLAEC and RELACult complete 10 years of trajectory with the reclassification of the journal to the A3 level of Qualis CAPES is a reason for great institutional pride. This recognition reflects the collective work of authors, reviewers, and the editorial team, in addition to the permanent commitment to critical, plural, and open-access science,” states Bruno César Alves Marcelino, editor-in-chief of RELACult.
For the associate editor-in-chief, the result also expresses the maturation of the editorial project over the last decade.
“The A3 classification reinforces the consistency of RELACult’s editorial processes and the continuous effort to qualify the journal, especially in strengthening peer review, internationalization, and the expansion of interdisciplinary dialogue,” highlights Juliana Porto Machado.
The RELACult editorial team thanks all those who, over the years, have contributed to the consolidation of the journal, including authors, reviewers, dossier editors, as well as the partner institutions that are part of this collective trajectory.
The journal continues with open calls on a continuous basis and with the publication of thematic dossiers, reaffirming its commitment to the dissemination of scientific knowledge and to the strengthening of the field of cultural and social studies in Latin America and in dialogue with other international contexts.
