Neglect and Elitism: challenges for implementing musical diplomacy in Brazil

This article aims to analyze, based on bibliographical materials available digitally, Brazilian musical diplomacy, from its conception to its problems in becoming effective on the global scene, based on the premise of a conception of a “musical elitism” that denies the popular aspect in the construction of Brazilian culture itself by not seeing it as culture and thus generating a disregard for the implementation of an active cultural diplomacy. In addition to explaining the importance of this creative industry for the creation of a global trade balance.
