Narrativas em costura: famílias inter-raciais e colonialidade

Abstract

This article investigates the impacts of coloniality on the experiences of interracial families in the south of Rio Grande do Sul, based on qualitative research that used narratives as a method and instrument of investigation. The narratives, produced by members of these families, were subjected to an interpretative process, detailed composition, of meanings to understand their experiences. From the analysis, twelve main concepts emerged, from which three guiding lines were selected that guided the research. These lines guided the composition of meanings of the narrative experiences, resulting in field texts, intermediate texts and, later, the final research text. The study highlights the importance of interracial families critically reflecting on their emotional-family experiences, providing a deeper understanding of how these experiences can influence the processes of positive or negative racial identity of black people. By highlighting these dynamics, the study contributes to a broader discussion about the intersection between coloniality, interracial relations and racial identity, promoting a reflection on the importance of recognizing and valuing the unique experiences of these families in the Brazilian context.
