For an Afrodiasporic Intellectuality
The production of knowledge by black women and Emancipatory Epistemologies

In this article I present reflections on the crossings of the intellectual production of black women and Brazilian black feminism. Having emancipation as a crucial point in changes in critical social theory, I initially highlight epistemological contributions about black feminist thought in a transnational perspective, understanding them as important for sustaining an insurgent social theory. To encourage the discussion about the intellectuality of black women crossed by black feminism, we bring to light the contributions of American and Brazilian black intellectuals. Finally, we highlight the characterization of what I call emancipatory epistemologies in convergence with the critique of the policy of centralizing knowledge and erasing memory.
