Symbolic violence of the breaking of social ties
the case of mineradora Braskem in Maceió/AL

The population of five neighborhoods, located in the municipality of Maceió in Alagoas, faces the phenomenon of soil subsidence caused by the mining activity of Petroquímica Braskem S/A, which led to the evacuation of areas and the process of spatial and symbolic deterritorialization of power relations. To this end, a qualitative type of research was carried out, with methodological procedures of a documentary and bibliographic nature and follow-ups were carried out in public agencies, news and electronic sites. The research is still in progress and the results are partial, so this work does not intend to exhaust the proposed theme, but to contribute for the study to serve as a source for a deeper debate in which there is much to be explored.
