Migration and ergology: understanding the prescript and real aspects of migratory activity

This article is inserted in discussions that come from the research “Dinâmicas migratórias dos trabalhadores haitianos em Belo Horizonte: precariedade transnacional”, which focus concerns understanding the migratory dynamics of Haitian workers in Belo Horizonte and its nearby cities, based on the idea of a precarious existence not only established in Haiti, but also in the country of arrival. The objective is to comprehend which processes are involved between the migration plan and the actual, real experience of being a migrant, understanding that migration is a human activity. In order to achieve this goal, we articulate ergology with concepts/experiences of migration which understand the travels as consequences of different causes and motivations that are not solely on a person, nor are defined on a frontier level. Understanding the migratory project as an activity leads us to affirm that there is a prescribed activity and a real activity; our interest is to thoroughly understand the inbetween. The person constantly travelling renormalizes, searching for new individual and grupal ways to create norms which allow their existences. Therefore, the ergologic perspective, when allied to the concept of human activity, amplifies the comprehension of migratory projects, making it possible to understand the psychosocial aspects of the migration experience. This amplification can enhance public politics and social services focused on migrants and refugees through concrete conditions of existence.
