Religious monuments of Foz do Iguaçu: Aspects of multiculturality

The main objective of this article is to analyze the religious monuments present in the multicultural spatiality characteristic of Foz do Iguaçu. Therefore, the observations show indications of how the imagery of plural culture in the region was constituted, as well as its elements of representation. In a methodological way, the empirical observation of the monuments considered as tourist attractions is made, as well as their mapping in the spatiality of the municipality, tracing connections with their religious representations. As a way of supporting the arguments, theoretical references to the theme are triggered, aligning connective reflections between the monument, memory and heritage. The study points out that reference elements of local culture tend to become tourist attractions inserted in a market dynamic.
