RELACult Opens Call for Papers for Thematic Dossiers – First Semester 2026
RELACult – Latin American Journal of Culture and Society announces the thematic dossiers that will compose Volume 12, Issue 01 (first semester of 2026) and informs the opening of the article submission period, in accordance with Edital No. 02/2025 of Editora CLAEC.
This issue brings together four thematic dossiers addressing contemporary debates in the fields of Humanities, Linguistics, Literature, Arts, and Social Sciences, with emphasis on culture, language, memory, politics, identities, and sociocultural dynamics in Latin America.
Article submission period: January 1 to May 31, 2026
Expected publication: July 31, 2026
Submissions must be made exclusively through the RELACult online system, following the journal’s Author Guidelines.

Summary of the scope:
This dossier proposes critical reflections on projects of nation in Brazil, based on contemporary readings of the Bicentennial of Independence and the legacy of modernism. It seeks contributions that problematize modernity, culture, art, and national identity, highlighting historically marginalized voices and challenging hegemonic narratives of Brazilian nationhood.

It encourages studies on heritage, cultural policies, museums, archives, artistic practices, and collective memory, considering symbolic and material disputes at local, regional, and transnational scales.

Submissions may focus on public policies, rights, participation, regional integration, and the impacts of digital technologies and circulating narratives in the public sphere.
