Submission Guidelines

Publication Frequency and Types of Publication
RELACult is a semiannual journal dedicated to the dissemination of unpublished articles, reviews, translations, and other documents relevant to Latin American cultural studies.

Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo a double-blind review by at least two referees (members of the Editorial Board or Ad Hoc reviewers).
Convergent reviews result in an invitation for revision or acceptance.
In the case of conflicting reviews, a third reviewer issues the final decision.

Fees
There are no fees or charges at any stage of the editorial process (submission, evaluation, or publication).

Submission System
All manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s electronic submission system.

Authorship
Each manuscript may have up to three authors (including co-authors).
If the corresponding author does not hold a Master’s degree, the paper must include a co-author with at least a Master’s degree (this rule does not apply to special issues or institutional partnerships).

Author Information
In the submission system and in the supplementary file (“Additional Data” template), provide for each author:

  • Full name

  • Highest academic degree

  • Institutional affiliation

  • City, state, and country

  • Contact e-mail

Languages and Translations
Manuscripts in Portuguese must include title, abstract, and keywords translated into Spanish, English, and French.
Manuscripts in Spanish, English, or French must include title, abstract, and keywords also in Portuguese and in the two remaining languages.

Formatting
Title, subtitle, and keywords: only the first letter in uppercase (except for acronyms).
File in Word (.doc), Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1.5, A4 format.
Articles: 8 to 25 pages (including references and notes).
Reviews: 4 to 8 pages.
Foreign terms, book titles, and highlights must be in italics; avoid bold.

Authors retain the copyright of their works and grant RELACult the right of first publication.

All articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), allowing reading, downloading, copying, distribution, adaptation, and commercial use, provided that proper attribution is given to the authors and the first publication in this journal is acknowledged.

RELACult reserves the right to make editorial corrections to ensure compliance with linguistic, orthographic, and grammatical standards. Final proofs will be sent to the authors whenever necessary.

The opinions expressed in the articles are the sole responsibility of their authors.

By submitting a manuscript, the author irrevocably declares ownership of all content (text, images, graphics, etc.) and, if applicable, declares to hold authorization for the use of third-party materials.

Articles and other content are made available in PDF and HTML formats after publication and may be archived in institutional repositories or personal pages, provided that full reference is given.

Contact information provided in the submission system will be used exclusively for editorial communication and will not be disclosed for other purposes.
